• Natural work-start notice - RSICover uses natural
work-start in computing separately for keyboard and mouse use. Thus, for
example, error of tying can be reduced before typing. This teaches user
that they can extend their work-time by preparing their activity. Furthermore,
the longer and more frequent the natural work-starts taken are, the more
¡°credit¡± RSICover gives-allowing a user to potentially avoid all break
suggestions if they develop good break-taking habits.
• Work-start suggestion practical level - Ideally,
work-starts should be taken, more or less, as soon as RSICover suggests
them. This method can be practical for employees or for job descriptions.
• Preparation for upcoming work - An important
part of making work-starts less intrusive is to let users prepare for
upcoming work-starts. The primary display optionally shows an estimate
of how long it will be before the next break is triggered. |
What is Warming-up?
After users take a break with stretches during the break, they start
to work at once as soon as break time is finished. In that case, a few
problems can happen to them when they start to work at once. For example,
the rate of error is high and the efficiency of work is lower. So users
need warming-up of some time(eg. 30sec, 1min, 3min, and so on) in pause
state when taking a break is finished before they start to work and they
must start to work. This leads to better performance.
AlarmStart vs. Non-AlarmStart
AlarmStart are available for enhancing performance by warming-up before
users¡¯ starting to work. However, neither of the other tools contains
any intelligent break reminder system of AlarmStart, and are therefore
of very limited use. We are not aware of any other ergonomic software
packages that are currently shipping with an AlarmStart feature, therefore
a comparison is not possible. Almost software-assisted break reminder
systems of Non-AlarmStart show facts that the rate of error is high and
the efficiency of work is lower. This leads to worse performance.
Work-Start Message before user start to work after break
During breaks, AlarmStart inform users the time when they start to work
jobs by Work-Start Message before they start to work after break. This
gives users opportunity to concentrate on jobs by warming-up before starting
to work and leads to comfortable computing and better performance.
